Our Programmes
Exemplar Schools
New Delhi
Our journey began when we turned around an under-resourced government school in Lajpat Nagar by forging a Public Private Partnership (PPP) with South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) in 2015. Eventually, we saw a dramatic improvement in the enrolment— from 9 to 200 students in just a year. When enrolment numbers increased, we even had a waiting list at the school, a rare occurrence for a government-run school. Following the success of Lajpat Nagar school, we took on two more schools in Delhi and now we run a network of 3 exemplar Schools. Today, we support nearly 1500 students in these three schools, which act as a beacon of excellence and constantly guide all our programmes on what a good learning environment looks like.

MCD School Transformation
New Delhi
We partnered with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to bring systemic transformation across the MCD-run schools. We worked extensively on three fronts— administrative, academic, and governance reforms. We helped build administrative capacity for academic mentorship, train teachers to incorporate high-engagement teaching tools in their classrooms, and support the creation of the right technology enablers to track learning achievement. In 2023-24, we focused on scaling teacher learning material (such as the Mathematics Toolkit), supporting the MCD in facilitating data-based decision-making and upskilling mentor teachers in their role as instructional leaders.

CM RISE Teacher Professional Development
Madhya Pradesh
We have partnered with the Government of Madhya Pradesh on the CM Rise Teacher Professional Development (TPD) programme— a state-wide effort to support 300,000 government school teachers in improving their pedagogical and academic interventions. We took on the challenge of training all teachers in Madhya Pradesh by building upon existing digital public infrastructure— the DIKSHA Platform. We made national assets by rolling out digital bite-sized modules across the state and monitored teacher's participation. In addition to digital training, we diversified our interventions to include in-person training and supporting mentor teachers in conducting classroom observations.

CM RISE Schools
Madhya Pradesh
The CM Rise Schools programme is the Government of Madhya Pradesh’s flagship programme, which has been started to set up 9200 CM Rise Schools over the next ten years. These CM Rise schools are envisioned as ‘bright spots’ that will act as demonstration schools for the entire state. As part of this programme, we are supporting the state education department as its academic implementation partners. The CM Rise Schools support model relies on two pillars— academic reform and administrative reform. Our interventions focus on school leadership, teacher capacity building and school systems strengthening for improved learning outcomes.

Digital Literacy
New Delhi
The Digital Literacy Programme was introduced to provide 21st-century skills to children from underprivileged communities. Peepul and Amazon Future Engineer (AFE) have collaborated with a mission to set up digital labs and incorporate a computer science-based curriculum to impart coding and computational skills.

The Digital Literacy Programme in Delhi aims to bring a systemic change by creating space for a computer science curriculum in MCD schools for grades 3, 4 and 5. The programme aims to provide early access to digital learning and develop 21st-century skills through block-based programming. Peepul has scaled the digital literacy programme to 47 MCD schools by providing in-person training to teachers who can provide a minimum of 1 hour of digital access per week to students.

Digital Literacy
Madhya Pradesh
The Digital Literacy programme in Madhya Pradesh aims to equip teachers and master trainers to build computational skills among their peers and students. We are supporting the School Education Department to pilot a curriculum to teach computers in grades 6th, 7th, and 8th. As per the curriculum, 42 periods (40 minutes each) have been assigned to teach computers comprising topics like Fundamentals of Computers, Block-based coding (Scratch Jr.), and Digital Citizenship in one academic year.

LIFT-Ed: Assessment Reforms
New Delhi
LIFT-Ed is a programme funded by the FLN-focused Development Impact Bond (DIB). This multi-year project focuses on “Assessment-informed Instruction” to drive improvement in student learning outcomes in MCD. This outcome-focused programme aims to lay a strong FLN foundation among the primary students of government schools. In LIFT-Ed, our theory of change is that embedded government partnerships and capacity-building of stakeholders will lead to the strengthening of systems at all levels and data-driven shifts in classroom practices, thereby improving SLOs in the long term. As part of the programme, we are building the capacity of— (1) teachers to conduct formative assessments and improvise instructional practices, (2) school heads (HoS) to provide mentorship to teachers and make data-based decisions, and (3) officials to drive systemic data-based decision-making.

District (Alirajpur) Deep Dive
Madhya Pradesh
The District Deep Dive programme in Alirajpur started under the banner of ‘Mission Education’, a Union Ministry of Education’s effort focused on improving learning outcomes in the ‘lowest performing districts’ of the country as per National Achievement Survey (NAS) 2017. We provided targeted support to the district administration through interventions such as digital training, creating professional learning communities, and context-specific rewards and recognition. In November 2022, the Ministry of Education, Government of India conducted a Mid-Term Achievement Survey in 8 "Lowest Performing Districts" to measure the student learning outcomes which revealed that the students in Alirajpur had bettered their NAS 2017 and NAS 2021 scores.
