Many people are asking about the best ways to respond to COVID. Immediate crisis relief seems to be the option most people gravitate towards. However, it’s not sufficient to provide direct cash transfers – there needs to be a more systemic view towards a COVID response strategy.

No time for conference speakers to drone on, no time for research that only produces another report on poor learning levels in the country, and no time to complain about how accountability systems and processes are broken.

Ambitious but practical, this is among some of the advice Kruti Bharucha had for herself when she began her entrepreneurial journey with Peepul.

India has made great progress in recent years towards its goals for primary education for all. However, in government schools, the quality of education has been on a downward spiral.

Education sets an individual free. It is heartening to see private establishments like Peepul Foundation working together with Delhi’s government schools to bring world-class education to their students. In an interview with Qrius, Ms Kruti Bharucha, the CEO of Peepul, talks about the foundation and its goals.

With over 19 years’ experience in various leadership and management roles in education, management consulting and advisory, Kruti Bharucha is now the CEO of Peepul.

Now in its third year, the Economic Times Women Ahead listing , based on an extensive study carried out by consulting firm SpencerStuart, presents much-needed role models from India Inc for India Inc.

Teaching the teachers to teach better is the first-of-its-kind initiative by non-government organisation Peepul, which has collaborated with the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) to pilot a teacher training programme that works at improving the “capacity” of government teachers.

Ark started working with the South Delhi Municipal Corporation in 2015 with the aim to turn around the corporation’s primary school in Lajpat Nagar III area of Delhi, which was failing due to low enrollment. As the operators of the first ever partnership school with the government in Delhi.
