What’s our Intiative?

The programme launched on 1 May 2020 as a COVID-19 response has since evolved into a holistic professional development model tailored to the needs of government school teachers. It equips educators with the skills, tools, and peer support necessary to reimagine teaching and learning across Madhya Pradesh.

In 2024–25, the programme supported more than 76,000 teachers across 52 districts, providing them with training, mentoring, professional learning communities (PLCs), and digital courses. Teachers also benefited from state and district booklets that showcased inspiring classroom practices and peer-learning experiences. This blend of large-scale training and ongoing localised support has enabled teachers to become active leaders of change within their schools and clusters.

Key Interventions

Blended Training

The programme offers a flexible and accessible training model that combines 59 digital courses on DIKSHA with in-person sessions. All content is:

  • Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP)
  • Designed to be simple and practical for teachers
  • Supported by detailed guides for trainers to ensure high-quality delivery

This blended approach ensures teachers receive continuous, scalable, and meaningful professional development.

Professional Learning Communities

As part of the teacher development effort, Shaikshik Samwad has emerged as a flagship initiative fostering peer learning and collaboration.

  • Launched at the state level and now scaled to districts and clusters
  • Led by trained Key Resource Persons (KRPs)
  • Conducted as monthly hybrid sessions (both in-person and digital)

These PLCs provide teachers with a safe, collaborative space to share challenges, exchange best practices, and co-create solutions, ensuring professional development is localised and ongoing.

Reward & Recognition

Motivating teachers and showcasing best practices is central to sustaining momentum. Under the programme:

  • State and district booklets such as Hamare Shikshak, Sajha Samwad, and Arso highlight inspiring stories from classrooms.
  • Classroom practice videos are published on the Rajya Shiksha Kendra’s YouTube channel, reaching a wide audience.
  • Teachers receive regular communication and updates to stay connected and engaged with the programme.

This structured recognition system builds pride, reinforces excellence, and strengthens the sense of belonging within the teaching community.
